IMEG-designed expansion to paint manufacturing facility breaks ground
Sherwin-Williams officials recently broke ground on their 36,000-sf expansion to their existing manufacturing facility and new distribution/fleet transportation center in Statesville, NC. The project will also add four new rail spurs and an additional 20,000-sf available for future expansion.
IMEG is providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and design services for the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The facility upgrades will add millions of gallons of annual manufacturing capacity and sizeable pallet storage to support increased demand for architectural paint and coatings products, according to the company’s press release.
Sherwin-Williams is investing $300 million in the project and will receive approximately $30 million in state, county, and local government incentives, a reflection of the public-private partnership between the company and the state.
