Adaptive Reuse
IMEG provided civil and survey engineering design services, along with planning and landscape architecture, for the adaptive reuse of a vacant 13-story, 600,000-sf government office building into The Foundry, a 16-story, 520-unit mixed-use residential building.
In addition to completely replacing the interior and exterior facades of the structure, IMEG provided design services for two large rooftop amenity spaces — a pool deck featuring a multi-level pool with chaise lounges, and a space for outdoor cooking, dining and lounging. A casual, natural feeling plant palette was employed to provide a variety of colors and textures and soften the modern, clean lines of the hardscape design.
