IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering design services for the construction of a 72,000-sf new administration library building for the St. Louis County Library District. The new building is part of a multi-year capital improvement campaign called Your Library Renewed.

Building spaces include the bookmobile library, acquisitions and processing, loading dock, building services, and communications, HR, finance, and library administration offices.

The new administration building will be used by approximately 180 staff members and feature spaces for materials processing, programming development, information technology, and marketing and administration.

The building gives the Library an improved space to support the greater St. Louis County Library system of 21 branches. The purpose built space enables more efficient processing of materials and gives the library a more functional space for the system staff to better serve patrons.

A key system of the new administration building is four high-efficiency rooftop units serving VAV terminal units with electric heating. The rooftop units required a significant amount of coordination with the structure and architecture was a significant challenge. IMEG held weekly coordination meetings with the architect and structural engineer to develop solutions to these challenges.

Additionally, IMEG has recently designed seven other projects for the St. Louis County Library District. Our excellent working relationship with the Library allows us to openly discuss and resolve issues with all the project stakeholders.
