Building Renovations
IMEG provided a site development program consisting of two new parking lots, modifications to an existing parking lot, and new utility service connections to support the building renovations for the aging high school. Design included modification of the main building entrance for ADA accessibility and new bio-retention facilities to meet stormwater management requirements and to treat surface runoff from the new parking lots. The roof design incorporated vegetated green roofs and rainwater collection for use in the building’s plumbing.
IMEG provided preparation of all civil/site-related LEED analyses, computations, and documentation online through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) for the project to achieve a LEED Gold rating, and preparation of Division 2 specifications. Plans were submitted and approved by the District’s Department of the Environment (DDOE), DC Water, and the District’s Department of Transportation (DDOT).
In addition to the renovation of the high school, IMEG provided a separate site plan for submission and permitting for temporary trailers that were placed on site during construction.
