IMEG provided medical equipment planning for an addition and renovation at Auburn Medical Center. The two-phase project included the renovation of the emergency, pharmacy, and wound care departments and a 95,000-sf, 68-bed addition for medical, surgery, and intensive care. The renovation doubled the size of the existing emergency department and included 30 private treatment rooms, a new ambulance bay and walk-in entry, trauma care facilities, and an expanded results waiting room. The pharmacy expansion and upgrade meets USP Chapter 800 standards.

Equipment reuse was maximized, and assets were surveyed and evaluated with the help of clinical and bio-medical staff. A new patient monitoring platform was planned and integrated into a corporate-wide change in technology. Once programmed, IMEG provided management support for solicitation of quotes, requisition purchases, and release of purchase orders. IMEG also provided logistical services for warehouse receiving, tracking, storage, re-delivery and labor for installation, as well as facility on-site receiving – all while coordinating services with the construction schedule and trades.

All planning was coordinated with the State of Washington Department of Health for compliance and acceptance, and construction was phased to permit continuing hospital operations.

The equipment budget for the emergency department alone was $1 million, with asset reuse providing approximately 40 percent of the reprogram.
