Comprehensive Development Modernization
The Agawam Village Development consists of seven residential buildings devised of two-story and townhouse style units on a 10-acre site. The units required MEP and site upgrades to meet current standards for accessibility, re-roofing, and window and door replacements.
IMEG performed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design services for the replacement of hydronic baseboard fin tube radiation with new zone valves in all apartments, re-use of existing heating distribution piping when possible, and installation of new thermostats in all units. IMEG’s design also replaced the cast iron interior sanitary piping with new, provided electrical upgrades with current code requirements, upgraded the fire alarm detection and notification devices in each unit and replaced all electric fixtures and other electric appurtenances.
All kitchens received new plumbing fixtures and new Energy Star electric ranges with exterior venting hoods. All bathrooms received new plumbing fixtures, tubs and tub surrounds, and mechanical ventilation as needed.
The work for the Ipswich Housing Authority was assigned through the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development.
