IMEG provided engineering design and services for Logansport Memorial Hospital’s Cancer Center renovation and addition, which includes a linear accelerator. The project brought together the hospital’s radiation oncology services and infusion therapy services into one convenient location.

Engineers provided MEP, fire protection, and technology design, as well as construction administration services. IMEG performed a study to understand the limits of the existing infrastructure and recommended upgrading the infrastructure to support the addition. These upgrades included a new 1.5 million BTU boiler, 200-ton chiller, and a 15,000 CFM air handling unit. These new systems have a high level of control system oversight via the building management system, providing years of reliable service for the cancer center.

The design’s sustainable features included efficiency upgrades at the central boiler and chiller plant, conversion to variable speed pumping, and the replacement of the digital controls system.

IMEG worked closely with the architect and owner to integrate the parallel infrastructure upgrades into the renovation and addition, providing careful planning and construction sequencing.
