New Orthopedic Hospital and MOB
IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and technology engineering design services for Franciscan Health’s new Orthopedic Hospital located in Carmel, IN. Prior to design, IMEG assisted in creating a master plan and course of action to build a state-of-the-art and industry-leading medical facility on a 12-to-18-acre tract of land in Carmel. The new facility includes an 166,481-sf orthopedic hospital, 68,955-sf medical office building, and a multi-story parking garage connected by a sky bridge to the hospital.

- 23 inpatient beds
- Physical and occupational therapy
- Athletic training
- MRI, CT, and laboratory services
- Research and learning center
- Acute injury walk-in clinic
- Musculoskeletal specialty clinic
- Paint management
- Diagnostic sports performance and primary care sports medicine
IMEG participated in multiple-day design charettes with the architect, owner, and user groups to consolidate meetings and reduce the overall design schedule. Early in design, IMEG engineers assisted the architect and owner with room mock-up efforts to validate design against the user group’s expectations.
