Three federal projects with design by IMEG recently received 2022 U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Awards. GSA Design Awards honor visionary thinking and collaborative efforts that produce the agency’s best new works, setting new benchmarks to aim for. 

The IMEG projects and their awards are: 

  • FBI Central Record Complex (pictured), Winchester, VA—Honor Award, Construction, presented to Clark Construction. christopher consultants now IMEG provided civil engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture design for this project, which consolidates official records from 265 Federal Bureau of Investigation field offices into one facility dedicated to storage, retrieval, and management.   • Columbus Land Port of Entry, Columbus, NM—Honor Awards for Architecture and Landscape Architecture, presented to Richter Architects and MWRM Landscape Architects, respectively. IMEG provided MEP and security design for this project, which replaced an obsolete border facility to process vehicle traffic as well as pedestrian travelers—a group that includes more than 800 American schoolchildren who cross into Columbus from Puerto Palomas, Mexico, daily.   • Convent Avenue and Juarez-lincoln Land Ports of Entry, Laredo, TX—Citation Award, Construction, presented to Brasfeld & Gorrie. IMEG provided MEP and security design and partnered with Richter Architects on the renovation and expansion of the Convent Avenue LPOE, an historic inspection building. The project focused on increasing the in-processing of pedestrian travelers and included substantial interior work as well as new windows, systems, and sustainability upgrades. Learn more.
