The state of Illinois has designated $105 million to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville for its new 220,000-sf health sciences complex.

Funds will come from the Rebuild Illinois capital plan.

The project includes a new 110,000-sf building to house the schools of Nursing and Pharmacy. Two existing buildings will be renovated and connected to it. The 220,000-sf complex will house classrooms, research laboratories, study areas, a nursing simulation lab, and administrative offices.

It will be designed and built to LEED Silver certification standards.

IMEG is providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the project, which is expected to break ground this year and open in 2025.
