Bettendorf breaks ground on The Landing, a new aquatic facility and ice rink
The city of Bettendorf has broken ground on The Landing, its $18 million aquatic facility and ice rink.
The Landing will be built in phases. Phase 1 includes a 12,500-sf pool and four support buildings. Pool features include a zero-depth entry, spray feature, ninja-style rope course, lap lanes, two diving boards, and two climbing walls.
Phase 1 is expected to open in May 2024.
Phase 2 will include a three-story slide tower, 430-foot-long lazy river, and a 3,700-sf splash pad. It is expected to open in 2025.
The final phase is an outdoor ice rink that can be converted into a turf field in the off-season. A completion date has not yet been set.
The project is a partnership with the YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley, which will run the city-owned complex.
IMEG is providing civil (design and survey), structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for the project.
