The City of Groton recently held a ribbon cutting celebration for its new, 125,000-gallon elevated water storage tank and pumphouse—two of four recent city projects for which IMEG provided civil engineering services.

To show its support, IMEG staff joined city staff, council members, residents, and members of the Groton Chamber of Commerce at the ceremony. The group then adjourned to City Hall for a lunch sponsored by IMEG.

Prior to the ceremony, IMEG civil designer Chelsey Sheridan read “Will the Civil Engineer” to children who attended a story time event in the City Hall’s library, which was followed by a STEM activity that taught the children how to build a structurally sound bridge out of Legos.

In addition to the water tower and booster pump projects, IMEG also recently provided civil design services for a water main extension project and the repainting of the city’s 480,000-gallon ground storage reservoir.
