The 21c Museum Hotel St. Louis, an adaptive reuse of a historic YMCA building, has been awarded the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGCMO) Keystone Award in the $30-70 million category.

The 10-story YMCA was built in 1926 in the Renaissance Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The hotel has 173 guest rooms and two multi-story suites (built in the Y’s former racquet ball courts), a curated art gallery and exhibition space, two restaurants, a gym, spa and swim club, and meeting and event space.

The award is based on contractor Russell’s ability to problem-solve, overcome challenges, encourage teamwork, and foster enhanced communications on the project.

IMEG provided civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design services, and technology and acoustics services for the project, as a subconsultant to Perfido Weiskopf Wagstaff + Goettel.
