Five IMEG-designed projects received 2023 NAIOP Northern Virginia Awards of Excellence at the Nov. 14 ceremony in Tysons, VA. The awards honor significant contributions to Northern Virginia’s built environment.  

Carlyle Crossing in Alexandria won a Mixed-Use Project Award of Excellence. IMEG provided civil and surveying services for the 1.7 million-square-foot development with three luxury apartment towers and a Wegmans Food Market. Balfour Beatty US submitted the nomination. 

The Residence at Colvin Run in Great Falls won a Multi-Family Residential Award of Excellence. IMEG provided surveying, land planning, arborist work, civil design, and landscape architecture for the state-of-the-art senior living community that features cottage-like apartments and various amenities such as a demonstration kitchen, art studio, theater, and salon. Architecture, Incorporated submitted the nomination. 

Heming in Tysons (pictured) won a Multi-family Residential Award of Excellence. IMEG provided structural engineering and design for the 481,000-sf mixed-use development featuring a 28-story tower with 410 residential units, 37,700-sf of retail space, a multi-level public plaza, and 530 parking spaces. Tower 8 Support Services Building within the Inova Center for Personalized Health (ICPH) campus in Merrifield won a Capital Improvement Non-Institutional Award of Excellence. IMEG provided civil, survey, subsurface utility engineering, structural, and landscape architecture services for the 16,000-sf facility that connects the administrative towers to the conference center and cafeteria and includes new transparent glazing, upgraded systems, and a redesigned lobby. Architecture, Incorporated submitted the nomination. 

The Army Navy Country Club Aquatic Center in Arlington County won an Amenity Space Award of Merit. IMEG provided civil and landscape architecture services for the facility, which includes an ‘L’ shaped, 50-meter Olympic pool with a diving well; teaching and youth pool; beach front to splash pad play area; and heated adult-only pool. The nomination was submitted by DFS Construction Corporation.
