Two IMEG-designed projects win AIA Wisconsin Architectural Design Merit Awards
Two IMEG projects were recently named 2024 AIA Wisconsin Architectural Design Merit Award winners.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center, submitted by Kahler Slater and HOK, received a Merit Award. The 270,916-sf complex (pictured) includes eight multipurpose courts, ice rink with spectator seating, natatorium, indoor track, climbing and bouldering wall, multipurpose studios, indoor jogging track, rooftop fitness area, and sports simulators. The school’s adapted fitness program for the kinesiology program is also housed in the Bakke Center. IMEG provided mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and ice rink design services for the project.

IMEG also provided structural engineering design for the Merit-Award winning One Community Bank in Cottage Grove, submitted by OPN Architects. The building’s roof plane extends over the drive-through lanes, clerestory windows in the entry and main lobby, and staff offices and conference rooms strategically located around the central lobby.
