The project: A new three-story, 50,000-sf building for the College of Engineering houses wet and dry labs, classrooms, auditoriums, faculty offices, and a lobby.

The goal: Support growing enrollment to the College of Engineering and enrich student education while allowing for continued growth.

Design approach: The new Academic & Research Building is designed to connect to the existing third floor of the Thomas Beam Engineering Building following a scheduled renovation.

Highlights: IMEG’s engineering services for this highly specialized facility includes HVAC systems, hydronic piping, central plant equipment, restroom exhaust, associated ductwork, air distribution devices, and temperature control systems. This project also features design for domestic hot and cold water systems, waste and vent piping, roof drainage, natural gas piping system and other incidental plumbing equipment, materials, and piping appurtenances.

Outcome: The new building is equipped to facilitate critical research and support innovation, preparing students for their professional careers in engineering.
