Optimized Systems, now IMEG, played a pivotal role in helping University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine renovate an aging multi-story building to achieve a 32 percent overall energy reduction.

Unlike typical projects where optimization happens post-installation, UNMC engaged Optimized Systems, now IMEG, early on to collaborate in the design of the building’s automation system. This early involvement minimized installation costs, ensured a high-quality design, and allowed for immediate integration of energy optimizations as equipment came online.

Optimized Systems, now IMEG, conducted a thorough analysis of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems to identify inefficiencies; programmed the HVAC and BAS components; and integrated the HVAC system with room scheduling software to align energy use with occupancy patterns, maximizing efficiency and reducing waste. EnergyCAP—an energy management and monitoring software system used on the project—has featured the outcomes on its website.

Since its founding in 2014, Optimized Systems has carved a niche as a trusted advisor in energy management, helping clients reduce energy consumption and operational costs without compromising occupant comfort, safety, or productivity. The firm joined IMEG in 2024.
