IMEG’s lighting design team (Illuminating Concepts) provided both interior lighting design for Spence Diamonds as they made their debut in the U.S. market.

Showroom design inspiration was taken from high-end luxury car dealerships and fashion runways, consisting of clean spaces and minimalized fixtures with product at center stage. Challenges came in how to specifically light freestanding all-glass “cube” jewelry display vitrines that had no structure in which to conceal lighting fixtures, and in mitigating potential glare from highly-reflective gems and glass that dominate the all-white space. To address this, our team crafted:

  • Miniature 5000K spotlights on vertical stanchions mounted at interior corners of casework illuminate fine jewelry while remote drivers were integrated into the base under pull out lockable drawers.
  • Casework at side walls incorporated an integrated 5300K edgelit panel. The top edge of the panel is translucent to allow light spill onto textured wall.
  • A departure from the main showroom space, the lounge seating area is lit to a lower level with indirect lighting and an integral LED pendant.
  • Miniature track and 5000K track heads mounted at front top edge of window display vitrines showcase jewelry on display while allowing view into the store.
