Distrito T-Mobile is a dynamic, mixed-use outdoor entertainment and retail complex in San Juan, Puerto Rico. During the design phase of the project, IMEG’s lighting design team (Illuminating Concepts) created captivating lighting solutions for a variety of spaces, including two distinctive restaurants and a range of exterior areas.

One of the standout venues in Distro T-Mobile, Arena Medalla, is a vibrant 12,500-sf, two-story sports-themed restaurant and entertainment hub, designed to host up to 250 guests. The venue’s electric atmosphere is enhanced by bold bursts of color, dynamic lighting, and modern design touches. Our team implemented linear lighting along the exterior façade, accentuating its sleek lines and guiding guests toward the entrance, drawing them into the action-packed space. The restaurant features interactive leisure areas, including an arcade, pool tables, dartboards, ping-pong, video games, three karaoke rooms, and a central stage for live performances. The dynamic 30-foot-wide LED panoramic screen for live sports events is a focal point, surrounded by lighting that amplifies the high-energy vibe. The lighting scheme was specifically designed to complement the wave flag-shaped ceiling element, adding to the venue’s exciting aesthetic and inviting ambiance.

The second restaurant, La Central, brings a more sophisticated, classically themed bar experience to Distrito T-Mobile. With an atmosphere of refined elegance, La Central offers a unique dining experience, featuring warmer tones and a striking distillery-inspired décor. IMEG’s lighting design team (Illuminating Concepts) provided expert interior and exterior lighting design and control system design to elevate the space, designing an alluring atmosphere that encourages both relaxation and stimulation. Lighting accents the exterior corridor, central entertainment space, and plays a crucial role in the dramatic zip-line tower and other façade elements, providing both functional illumination and artistic flair. The conceptual design for the streetscape and façade lighting blends seamlessly with the venue’s classy vibe, creating an immersive and inviting environment for guests seeking both relaxation and excitement.

In both restaurants, IMEG’s lighting design team (Illuminating Concepts) expertise brought to life the unique atmospheres of Arena Medalla and La Central, amplifying each space’s personality while also enhancing the overall guest experience. Through a mix of creative architectural and dynamic lighting, we transformed these restaurants into destinations that capture the attention and imagination of all who visit.
