The project: IMEG provided structural engineering services for the 140,000-sf new College of Business and Technology building at The University of Texas at Tyler.

The goal: The objective was to create a modern, energy-efficient academic facility that provides ample space for lectures, labs, and large gatherings while incorporating sustainable design features.

The design: The four-story concrete frame structure includes several large lecture rooms, lab spaces, terrace levels, and a 500-seat auditorium. Elements such as canopies and shade features enhance energy efficiency. The project also includes a 375-car hybrid parking garage, designed with the potential for future vertical expansion.

The outcome: The completed facility offers a dynamic and functional learning environment for students and faculty, with state-of-the-art spaces for instruction and collaboration. The incorporation of shade structures and energy-efficient features supports sustainability while the adaptable parking structure ensures long-term flexibility for campus growth.
