Building Renovations

The project: IMEG provided design and construction administration services for the targeted renovations of the 96,864-sf Gray Building on the campus of University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
The space: The building formerly housed the high school, faculty offices, performance, and practice spaces for the university.
Scope of work: The renovations included a new storefront for a three-story elevator lobby and interior finishes, a new roof for most of the building, five new air-handling units with humidity control capabilities, two new cooling towers and structure for 600 tons of cooling capacity, and a new voice evacuation fire alarm system.
