The project: IMEG is collaborating with a project team to revegetate and enhance the site of a new Metro North Train Station. This project aims to integrate the site with the surrounding environment, creating a seamless transition between the station area and the adjacent wetlands.

The goal: To revitalize the site through native plantings, enhancing the biodiversity of the area while creating a natural habitat for local wildlife. Key plant species such as winterberry, red maples, and inkberry will be planted, with the intention of providing a sustainable environment for birds and small animals.

Design approach: The design scope includes the selection and installation of native plant species that are ecologically appropriate for the area. Additionally, IMEG’s biologists and environmental specialists will design and implement new “compensatory” wetlands to help restore and enhance the local ecosystem, ensuring that the site contributes positively to the surrounding environment.

Project outcome: Upon completion, the Metro North Train Station site will serve as an environmentally integrated space, blending naturally with the adjacent wetlands. The planted species will offer habitats for local wildlife, while the new wetlands will contribute to ecological balance, benefiting the broader environmental health of the area.
