Washington University School of Medicine has completed its 6-story vertical expansion

Washington University School of Medicine has completed a $165 million six-floor vertical expansion of the north tower of the Steven & Susan Lipstein BJC Institute of Health (BJCIH) building in St. Louis.
The 160,000-sf expansion includes a 7,400-sf Biologic Therapy Core Facility (BTCF); 100,000 SF of expanded laboratory space; and about 43,000-sf of mechanical building-support areas.
IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design, energy modeling, and construction administration services for the project, which was completed in March 2025.
