HSBC’s U.S. headquarters in New York has been awarded an IES Illumination Award of Merit for its meritorious contribution to lighting design.

The project will be honored in the September issue of the LD+A, the magazine of the IES.

HSBC, an international banking corporation, pursued a flexible workspace concept in the Spiral building in New York City’s Hudson Yards neighborhood.

IMEG created the lighting design, which includes the use of lighting fixtures as dramatic sculptural elements more akin to a boutique hotel, and the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for electrical distribution connecting lighting, HVAC, audio visual, and security systems.

IMEG’s team included Senior Project Manager David Cyr, Senior Lighting Designer Suzie Lee, and Lighting Designers Lulu Wang and Karmen Ho.
