The Illinois Real Estate Journal named IMEG the Engineering Firm of the Year at a ceremony on June 5. The annual awards ceremony recognizes the top firms, people, and projects within the commercial real estate industry in Illinois.

Two IMEG-engineered projects also won Best Project in two award categories.

Government/Community Facility – Suburban

  • Rockford Public Library: IMEG provided structural, mechanical, electrical, and technology design as well as commissioning services for the new riverfront library, which features a cantilever system, underground parking, enhanced technology, and various event and gathering spaces. The library was built on a former gasification site that had contaminated soil and needed careful integration of temporary earth retention systems and temporary dewatering and ground plugs. The project has previously won an ACEC Illinois 2025 Engineering Excellence Honor Award and Judges Choice Award, and the 2024 Citation of Merit for Architecture Design from the AIA Prairie Chapter.
