IMEG will provide MEP design for Phase 2 of the mixed-use development of the 1,100,000-sf California Broadway Trade Center on Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles.

Phase 2 of the landmark historical building renovation will be complete in 2020 and consists of approximately 500,000 square feet of office and hotel spaces, 200,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, several new mezzanine floors, and major rooftop additions including pools, gardens, and landscaping areas.

IMEG previously provided structural and civil services for Phase 1 of the project, which included seismic risk assessment, seismic evaluation, and seismic upgrade of the entire building.

The former May Company department store building was originally constructed in 1907 with multiple additions in the 1920s and ’30s
