IMEG-designed library opens to public
The new Waunakee Public Library held a grand opening Aug. 1 to celebrate the completion of the 39,500-sf project. IMEG partnered with OPN Architects to provide structural, MEP, fire protection, and technology design for the new library, which features two wings — one housing the main collection area and the other hosting community events.
The library also includes a living room, community board room, coffee bar, history hall, children’s section with an interactive area for learning through play, and a technology hub for teens. The facility – located on a former brownfield site – features a green roof, solar panels, and daylighting. A community park with a bike path and pedestrian bridge connects the library site to downtown.
