IMEG-engineered hospital opens for patients
Parkview Wabash Hospital in Wabash, Ind., opened to patients on June 27, after nearly two years of construction. IMEG provided structural, MEP, and fire protection design, as well as medical equipment planning for the $35 million, 80,000-sf critical access hospital. New technology, larger rooms, natural lighting, greater privacy, and the display of Wabash County photographs by local residents showcase the hospital’s dedication to its community.
The new hospital includes 18 private patient beds, two operating rooms, six private ambulatory surgery rooms, three PACU bays, eight emergency department rooms, emergency trauma room, radiology, outpatient services, and an attached, 31,000-sf medical office building. The facility also houses a new birthing center with spacious rooms for mothers and their families, providing services Parkview Wabash hasn’t offered in more than 14 years.
