IMEG has been ranked 11th among Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 2025 MEP Giants. This year’s ranking moves IMEG up one spot from the 2024 Giants list.

The MEP Giants program lists the top 100 MEP and fire protection engineering firms in North America, based on total MEP design revenue.

The 2025 MEP Giants list includes 59% private companies (flat compared to 2024), 28% employee-owned companies, 8% limited-liability companies and 5% public companies. The list is made up of consulting engineering firms (63%, up from 60% last year) and architectural engineering firms (30%, down from 31% last year).

C-SE reports 21% of the firms reported acquiring another company last year, a slight dip from last year’s 25% acquisition rate. But as a group, the largest mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and fire protection engineering firms completed 69 acquisitions in 2024 — a 28% jump from the previous year and just one deal short of the 2021 all-time high.

IMEG, with 12 completed acquisitions in 2024, was the most active buyer on the list, according to a report by Nick Belitz, a principal with Morrissey Goodale LLC.
