The HSBC New York Headquarters in New York City is a finalist for the Commercial Observer’s 2025 Breakthrough Awards in the Sustainability category.  

The awards will be presented on Dec. 2. 

HSBC, an international banking corporation, pursued a flexible workspace concept in the Spiral building in New York City’s Hudson Yards neighborhood.  

IMEG created the lighting design, which includes the use of lighting fixtures as dramatic sculptural elements more akin to a boutique hotel, and the use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology for electrical distribution connecting lighting, HVAC, audio visual, and security systems.  

 IMEG’s team included Senior Project Manager David Cyr, Senior Lighting Designer Suzie Lee, and Lighting Designers Lulu Wang and Karmen Ho.
