Two IMEG projects have received ACEC New York Engineering Excellence Awards. Both will be honored at a ceremony April 18, 2026, in New York City. 

Samara Community School | ACEC New York Diamond Award: The new 61,672-sf pre-K to grade 5 school (pictured at left) in Bronx, NY, is a resilient, energy-efficient learning environment that exemplifies smart, sustainable school design. The project features dual energy recovery wheels, integrated automation, and comprehensive safety features. IMEG provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design, energy modeling, and construction administration. The project will move on to compete in the ACEC National Engineering Excellence Awards. Learn more 

FDNY Engine Company 74 Firehouse | ACEC New York Platinum Award: This project brought 21st-century functionality to an 1888 landmarked firehouse on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. IMEG provided innovative engineering solutions, including a new radiant-heat concrete apparatus floor and discreet utility routing, all while preserving the historic façade and interior character. The design overcame complex spatial and regulatory challenges, blending modern performance with preservation to sustain the firehouse’s legacy as a vital community landmark. Read more.
