Abby Coleman receives Healthcare Design Industry MVP Award
IMEG’s Abby Coleman will be honored with Healthcare Design magazine’s 2026 HCD 10 award in the Industry MVP category. The program honors professionals in 10 categories for their accomplishments in healthcare over the past year.
As an Innovation Extended Reality Specialist, Abby has been instrumental in redefining how IMEG uses immersive technology to support healthcare design decision-making. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Abby pivoted into an innovation-focused role and has led the evolution of virtual and augmented reality from a specialized offering into a repeatable, integrated part of the healthcare design process—particularly for clinician engagement and workflow validation.
Her work places clinicians, caregivers, and multidisciplinary design teams directly inside patient rooms, procedure spaces, and support areas well before construction—allowing real-time evaluation of layouts, equipment placement, circulation, and technology integration.
Abby has facilitated hundreds of immersive VR sessions as part of IMEG’s projects, contributing to a cumulative total of more than 1,300 VR experiences across 20+ projects and 400+ client-facing sessions.
Abby will be featured in the June/July issue of Healthcare Design magazine and online, and will be celebrated at an awards dinner at the HCD forum at the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo, June 24-26, in Charleston, SC, as well as during the magazine’s awards luncheon at the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo, Oct. 17-20, in New Orleans.
