Lenoir Community College has opened a new aviation center in a bid to help students prepare for aviation industry jobs in North Carolina.  

The ribbon was cut on the Senator Jim Perry Aviation Center for Excellence in Kinston, NC, on May 19. The center features state-of-the-art aviation training equipment intended to prepare students for careers without requiring them to leave the region.  

It includes a 57,0204-sf training facility and a 13,268-sf aircraft hangar and will support programs in Aviation Management & Career Pilot Technology and Aviation Systems Technology.
