Tyler Kepiro to discuss Lehigh University campus transformation at ERAPPA Conference
IMEG Senior Mechanical Engineer Tyler Kepiro, PE, will present “Renewal over New: Balancing Heritage, Sustainability, and Student Life at Lehigh University” at the ERAPPA Conference in Providence, RI, at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22.
He will discuss the renewal of Lehigh University’s Clayton University Center, a 19th-century campus landmark transformed to support current and future student life and dining needs while preserving its historic character. The project achieved LEED Silver certification and used adaptive reuse to avoid the embodied carbon associated with new construction.
Kepiro will discuss how forward-thinking MEP systems, flexible infrastructure, and creative solutions improved maintainability, energy performance, and long-term resilience. The session also will highlight how the team planned collaboratively to balance heritage, sustainability, fiscal realities, and student needs.
