Adaptive Re-Use Historic Housing Renovation
IMEG provided engineering design services for the Heartland Alliance’s Town Hall Apartments, an adaptive re-use of the historic Town Hall police station, a Chicago Landmark, and the new construction of a six-story housing unit.
The 83,685-sf facility consists of 79 senior rental housing units, fitness room, computer lab, family dining room, laundry on each floor, onsite property management, underground parking for 31 cars, and street-level retail. A new Senior Center is located on the first floor of the historic police station.
The facility is LEED Gold certified and received a 2015 Preservation Excellence Award from the Commission on Chicago Landmarks.
