Operations begin at IMEG-designed Vehicle Environment Test Center
Allison Transmission opened its Vehicle Environment Test Center in Indianapolis in 2020. IMEG provided civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering and acoustic design services for the new facility.
The 60,000-sf center houses two environmental chambers that can simulate various environmental conditions and duty cycles, such as temperature extremes, altitudes, and other on-road conditions. This innovative center‘s controlled laboratory conditions eliminate dependence on weather conditions and variations in fuel economy and performance testing, while providing reliable and repeatable data for product development.
