IMEG provided structural engineering design for a new two-story, 348,000-sf high-performing facility in a record six months. The facility is the second on CyrusOne’s data center campus in Northern Virginia.

The data center includes data halls, raised floor space, Class A office space and additional support areas. The shell building is a precast concrete framing system consisting of double tees, beams, columns and panels. Companies experiencing rapid and unexpected growth often need a quick solution to meet increased IT capacity requirements. IMEG’s structural engineers collaborated closely with the Sterling II Data Center project team under an accelerated schedule. IMEG’s extensive experience, quality work, and early foundation, steel, bid, and permit packages were beneficial in speeding up approvals and construction.
