New Residence Hall for Students
IMEG provided structural engineering and design services for Santa Clara University’s Finn Residence Hall, a 120,000-sf new dormitory housing 366 units. This is a four-story wood-frame structure over a one-level concrete podium which houses an underground parking garage for the occupants. Constructed where the Sobrato surface parking lot was once sited, the new south campus residence hall features Jack and Jill style mini-suites as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments for staff members. Neighborhood amenities such as kitchens, living rooms, and study spaces are on each floor with large multipurpose room and recreational space to foster student engagement and collaboration – making this new residence hall feel like home for the incoming undergraduate students.
