IMEG provided structural engineering and design services for the new Clackamas Fire District No. 1 – Fire Station 16 facility located in Oregon City. The original 1972 building was torn down to make way for a 12,400-sf one-story modern facility that meets the current needs and includes three double deep apparatus bays and houses up to eight fire fighters and the battalion chief. The state-of-the-art facility also supports district training activities. The structure utilized wood-frame construction and is enrolled in the Energy Trust of Oregon’s Path to Net Zero program. The building incorporates energy efficient envelope design, passive cooling daylight harvesting and photovoltaic renewable energy which makes the facility more energy resilient.

The project received the 2020 SEAO Excellence in Structural Engineering Award in the New Building Under $20 Million category.
