General contractors on two IMEG projects received first place and finalist honors in the $25 million category of the 2021 Master Builders of Iowa Master Awards.  

JE Dunn Construction received the top award for its work on the $60 million Student Innovation Center at Iowa State University in Ames. The 140,000-sf state-of-the-art building provides a highly flexible, dynamic, and innovative space utilized by students for both educational and co-curricular activitiesThe facility is unlike any other building on campus and incorporates fabrication areas for electronics, woodworking, metal working, a test kitchen, and a student storeIMEG provided MEP, fire protection, and technology design, along with energy modeling. 

Runner-up honor went to The Hansen Company for its construction of MidAmerican Energy’s new Energy Training Center west of Des Moines. The $30 million, 143,000-sf facility includes a substation shop for vehicle maintenance as well as line and gas training areas. IMEG provided MEP, fire protection, technology, and security design for the project.
