IMEG is providing structural engineering services for The Modern Austin residences in Austin, TX. The 55-story, 790,000-sf high rise tower complex will include 345 residences, 15 combined levels of below and above grade parking space, luxury penthouse suites, and two amenity decks that feature a yoga studio, multiple lounges, a fitness center, private dining areas, a business center, and an Olympic-size swimming pool that overlooks the city’s rapidly growing Central Business District. The skyscraper will be a unique addition to the Austin skyline and will offer residents a comfortable, relaxing, and accessible complex unlike anything else in the area.

IMEG is working directly with the architects and owner to develop efficient structural design solution as well a practical construction sequencing for the completion of the project. This process includes wind tunnel studies and Autodesk Revit structure models to understand the various forces the skyscraper will be exposed to. This is IMEG’s third high rise in the Rainey Street District with architect Page, coming after the successful completion of 70 Rainey and 44 East.

This project will enhance the district by including expanded sidewalks, new trees and bike lanes, as well as affordable housing options. While not expected to be completed until 2025, the project will break ground in early 2022.
