Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer recently visited Ford Motor Company’s new Electric Vehicle Center at the automaker’s historic Rouge complex in Dearborn, MI.

The facility, which features structural design by IMEG, will produce the all-electric F-150 Lightning beginning in 2022 and is part of Ford’s $700 million investment in manufacturing infrastructure to produce more electric vehicles.

Whitmer highlighted the facility’s employment potential and environmental awareness in a video posted to her official twitter account.
