IMEG-designed ISU Student Innovation Center wins ENR Midwest Best Project Award
The Iowa State University Student Innovation Center has won an ENR Midwest 2021 Best Project award in the higher education/research category.
IMEG provided MEP, fire protection, acoustics, technology, energy modeling, and construction administration services (as well as a life cycle cost study) for the 140,000-sf, $60 million center. The new building was designed for multidisciplinary use and is a hub for students in the College of Engineering and College of Design, furthering the university’s mission to be a hands-on institution. It features fabrication areas for electronics, woodworking and textiles, metal working and engine test bays, as well as a test kitchen and a store selling products the students make.
The project will now go on to compete against other regional higher education/research category winners for the title of ENR National Best Project.
