College of Lake County’s student center earns LEED certification
IMEG provided structural engineering and design services for the new student center at the College of Lake County’s Lakeshore Campus. The 62,692-sf, six-story building houses a library, community meeting space, welcome center, four classrooms, labs, testing rooms, tutoring center, and flexible community spaces overlooking Lake Michigan.
The project also included the renovation of 4,665-sf of existing building space, including the Children’s Learning Center, science laboratory, and a new classroom. The project will provide program expansions for digital media, manufacturing, hospitality, horticulture, and entrepreneurship.
The building earned LEED certification after its 2023 opening.
