Rick has more than 20 years of experience helping building owners and managers find creative, practical solutions to building performance optimization and sustainability. Rick founded Optimized Systems in Omaha, Neb., in 2014 and merged the firm with IMEG in 2024. Previously, he served as Director of Engineering and Strategic Energy Initiatives for a large, nationally recognized university medical center. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from University of Kansas and is a licensed Professional Engineer (Mechanical and Architectural); a Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP); a Certified Energy Manager (CEM);a  Certified Green Building Engineer (GBE); a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP); and a Certified Master Programmer.
