2025 Ryder Cup site improved by IMEG

As next month’s Ryder Cup draws closer, the grounds crew at Bethpage Black Golf Course in New York, site of the 2025 event, is working to ensure optimal course conditions. Their efforts have been aided in part by IMEG.
Working under contract with New York State’s Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, IMEG provided civil, structural, and MEP design for the repair or replacement of various infrastructure at the course in preparation for the international tournament. The work included plans and specifications for:
- Renovation/replacement of 4.3 miles of asphalt cart and service paths
- Drainage and pavement improvements around the main maintenance facility
- A new, prefabricated 2,450-sf equipment storage building
- Replacement of wing walls at the Round Swamp Road underpass that connects the golf course
Construction crews have since completed the improvements, with IMEG providing construction administration services throughout the process.
“The work we and the contractors have done will go unnoticed by the golfers, and that’s fine,” said Walter Sieber, an IMEG senior landscape architect and manager of the project. “Our goal was to provide the needed improvements to enable the facilities and maintenance staff to prepare for this major event and provide the golf teams from the U.S. and Europe with top-notch playing conditions.”
The tournament will be held Sept. 23-28. For more information, visit the Ryder Cup website.
