The 21c Museum Hotel St. Louis, an adaptive reuse of a historic YMCA building, has been awarded the ACEC Missouri Engineering Excellence Grand Award. The award recognizes quality engineering design in the state.

The 10-story YMCA was built in 1926 in the Renaissance Revival style and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The hotel has 173 guest rooms and two multi-story suites (built in the Y’s former racquet ball courts), a curated art gallery and exhibition space, two restaurants, a gym, spa and swim club, and meeting and event space.

IMEG provided civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection design, commissioning, and construction administration for the project.

The project previously received an ENR Midwest Best Project in the Renovation/Restoration category, and the Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGCMO) Keystone Award in the $30-70 million category.
