Burnett County, Wis., plans to open a new public safety building in 2023.

The 68,000-sf project includes a new 40,000-sf building and renovation of 2,500-sf of the current county Government Center. It will include a 92-bed jail, drive-through sally port, sheriff, deputy, and detective offices, an expanded dispatch center, and security upgrades.

The addition will be constructed of precast concrete panels with decorative concrete brick around the office area to match the existing building.

IMEG is providing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, and security engineering services for the project.

It is expected to open in May.
