IMEG’s Chad Schrand, SE, PE, has been elected President-Elect of the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). 

The 30,000 members of SEI strive to advance and serve the structural engineering profession through advocacy, conferences, workshops, peer-reviewed journals, books, manuals of practice, and more. 

Chad has over 20 years of experience in structural engineering and is an SEI Fellow and member of the Order of the Engineer. An IMEG senior engineer, his areas of specialty include structural design and analysis, investigations into building distress and structural failure, renovation and repair design, building envelope evaluations, and seismic analysis and design. He earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
