Chronicle Mill adaptive reuse featured in Urban Land’s “Ten Conversions to Residential Use”
The Chronicle Mill adaptive reuse project in Belmont, NC, was featured in Urban Land magazine’s “UL10: Ten Conversions to Residential Use.”
Built in 1901 as Belmont’s first textile mill, the long-abandoned property has been reimagined into a vibrant mixed-use destination.
The redevelopment preserved key elements of the historic façade, added a fourth floor, and introduced 238 apartments, along with food and beverage, retail, and outdoor amenity spaces—helping revitalize downtown Belmont.
IMEG provided mechanical and fire protection engineering services as a subconsultant to BB+M Architecture, supporting the successful transformation of this landmark property.
